MORNINGTIME 2545

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds THROUGH CHRIST JESUS. Philippians 4:6-7. The word  "careful" here means anxious, as in be anxious for nothing, don't be anxious about ANYTHING. "Every thing" means all, total, completely, nothing missed. "Supplication" means "a seeking, asking, entreating, entreaty to God or to man". These 2 verses are full of great Promise and Potential. They can give great Comfort to someone in a hard situation. It's easy to lean on these Promises and expect the Lord to fill you with Peace when everything around you comes crashing down. And that's good. BUT, there is a "fine print catch" that must also take place for you to "activate" these Promises into your Life. (Read the concept here and don't go legalistic). THROUGH CHRIST JESUS, is the only Way to get to this, and Who is Christ Jesus? In this case, He Is The Word, The Living Word of God Almighty. In one sense, Christ is The Bible, full of Life and Understanding of the Lord and His Ways. The Bible is A Living Instrument that brings, and IS Life, to the reader. In short, this is yet another admonition to "Read your Bible" so that His Promises surround you to such a degree that every way you turn, in everything you do, you are Walking In, Living In, Breathing In Christ  as you grow in CHRISTLIKENESS. Once again, be careful. You can read, read, read until you're blue in the face and gain very little. Legalistically reading for hours on end can be good, BUT SLOW DOWN, think about, mull over, consider, pray over, talk to the Lord about, what you're reading. I saw a man eat a big hamburger in 4 bites, almost choking on each bite. Yes, he can say he ate lunch, but isn't it nicer to enjoy each (smaller) bite that the Chef took time to prepare for you, so that you will, Be Blessed?
