Again the Word of the Lord came unto (Ezekiel), saying, Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their Watchman: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a Watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear The Word at My Mouth, and warn them from Me. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Ezekiel 33:1-3,7, 9. The Lord has a big Heart, and to be a Watchman is the Heart of the Lord, among other things. For example, a local Watchman looks out for his local community, people he deals with each day. His obligations and responsibilities are much smaller than someone the Lord has placed in a National Position as Watchman. His obligations and responsibilities are much greater than one of the local community. Here's the bottom line, both men have a Heart for the Lord, both Love and Care for all peoples, and both are willing to take on the obligations and responsibilities required of the Lord to do this job. One of the benefits is having an Ear a little closer to the Heart of the Lord, that Still, Small Voice, listening for further instructions and information. They understand lives are in danger and are ready to say whatever the Lord wants said, even when it's a hard thing to say. They Fear the Lord more than they fear man. It should be that way for all of us, but alas, Fearing The Lord is something that "Grows" in a Believers Life. Just like CHRISTLIKENESS grows, even day by day if you're willing to put in the time and effort needed to do so. (Read carefully). If Christ is "Everything to everybody", and we are to be like Him, then isn't even a "taste" of Watchman a GOoD Thing to do and be, that we, and they, may, Be Blessed?
