(As you read these verses, I have combined 2 separate stories to show how far back rebellion goes. This is not an attempt to change the Bible). For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being (a Godly) king (over your household). And (Adam) said unto (God), I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, (my wife) and obeyed (her) voice. Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord (in the Holiness, Righteousness, and Purity we once had). And (God) said unto (Adam), I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being (a CHRISTLIKE) king over (his people). 1 Samuel 15:23-25, 25-26. And just what did this little outburst of rebellion cost Adam and Eve? Eternal Life and Pure Fellowship with the Lord here on this earth. It was so bad, it eventually took a literal Act Of God and His Death in the Cross, to bring man back into Right Relationship with the Lord God Almighty. Still today, that rebellion is alive and well in the (4 walls grassy front yard) church of today. Most preachers fear their congregations and what they can do to the preacher a whole lot more than what the Lord can do to them. The Power And Authority, Majesty And Holiness, of the Lord no longer brings Fear and Reverence into the hearts of the people. The god of the (general) church of today has NO resemblance to the God Of The Bible. BUT GOD, Who never changes, is very much Alive and Well in the Hearts, Lives, Praise and Worship, of His People all across planet Earth. The Obedience of Christ on the Cross of Calvary has now restored all men who ask, back into Right Relationship with the Lord God Almighty. ALL those who choose to Follow Christ in Full Fellowship with Him, may do so, and, Be Blessed.
