And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison. But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. Genesis 39:20-21. (Joseph had done no wrong, he was unjustly thrown into prison, and the Lord blessed him anyway). Then (King) Asa was wroth with the seer, (the Prophet), and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time. 2 Chronicles 16:10. (King Asa didn't like the Word of the Lord from the Prophet). And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of AFFLICTION and with water of AFFLICTION, until I return in peace. 2 Chronicles 18:26. (Justly, or unjustly, people are thrown into Prison). For the Lord heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners. Psalm 69:33. (Many in Prison are there for Breaking The Law. Some are allowed to go, by the Lord, to Serve Him there). That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in The Ways, and their pastures shall be in all High Places. Isaiah 49:9. (A person, breaking man's Law, may possibly never get out of Prison. Christ came to offer Freedom from the Bondages of Sin and Death unto Life Eternal, to both people inside, and outside, prison walls). Now when John (the Baptist) had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, Verily I, (Jesus), say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater (Prophet) than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Matthew 11:2,11. The Righteous John The Baptist was allowed to be thrown into prison, to Preach Christ to the Incarcerated. Some are in man's prison. All are in Sin's Prison. Christ offers Freedom from Sin's Prison, that you may, Be Blessed.
