MORNINGTIME 2054

And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. AND THE WORD OF THE LORD WAS PRECIOUS in those days; there was no open vision. 1 Samuel 3:1. This is from a heavy heart, and not from judging or critical thinking. It also comes under the heading of, "Examine Yourself". Many churches pride themselves with visitor’s comments of, "This is such a loving church, everyone is so friendly, I'd like to come back here again". We puff with Pride every time we hear that. Let's dig a little deeper. It's been said, a Friend is someone who will tell you The Truth. Can you be a friend to a fellow pew sitter if the Lord shows you something's not right in their walk with the Lord? Isn't that also what a Pastor is supposed to do, tell us sheep when something isn't right with our (individual or corporate) walk with the Lord? Is it Love to tell a friend, "Brother, you tell us you're a Christian, but your fruits are all rotten, can we talk about it"?  "I'm concerned about you friend, without Christ, the only end of the road is Hell, and I fear for your eternity". The Gospel will make ANYONE uncomfortable, especially if it cuts you open to reveal secrete sin you thought was hidden from view. A doctor can't remove cancer until he cuts through the veneer to get to the rottenness of the disease. A Preacher, led by the Holy Spirit, has to cut through man's pride to get to the rottenness of sin. That will make one uncomfortable. Only one wanting freedom from sin will stay to hear ALL the Good News, otherwise, "He makes me feel guilty, I'm not coming back". This person doesn't want to hear the Truth, he likes to keep his head in the sand and not even acknowledge the fast approaching Hell. If we try to make people feel comfortable during Preaching, and try to keep them from heading out the door, WE'RE ONLY PROVIDING A BABY SITTING SERVICE TO KEEP "NUMBERS" LOOKING GOOD IN OUR HOUSE. Shepherds speak Truth. Hirelings can't understand the job of Shepherd, and they will never, Be Blessed.
