I (Jesus) speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye (The Pharisees) do that which ye have seen with your father (the devil). They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, A MAN THAT HATH TOLD YOU THE TRUTH, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, IF GOD WERE YOUR FATHER, YE WOULD LOVE ME: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. John 8:38-42. Jesus is talking with the Pharisees and they don't like the Truth that they hear from Christ. WHOSOEVER HATETH HIS BROTHER IS A MURDERER: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15. If a Preacher, Teacher, or Joe Sheeper talks to you and tells you The Truth, you have 2 options. The first is to accept his Word, because the Holy Spirit is witnessing to you that those Words ARE the Truth and are meant for you to consider, or two, even WITH the Holy Spirit still witnessing to you the Truth, you must find a way to make those same words to NOT apply to you. If you can't fight the Message, beat up on the Messenger. The Pharisees quickly reminded Jesus that he was a product of a "run-around" Mom who got pregnant before she was married. That completely disqualifies Him from any real knowledge of the Truth. Jesus tells them they are doing the works of their father, the Devil. They hate the truth because Truth cuts to the bone. So, does your Preacher, Teacher, or Joe Sheeper speak the Gospel Truth and it cuts? Will you cut through Pride and ask the Holy Spirit to continue to Reveal Truth to your life? Or do you find some Excuse to disqualify the preacher and cast down the spoken Words of Truth and kick them aside in the dirt? Do you Love Christ? Them Love His Word, and, Be Blessed.
