MORNINGTIME 2072

And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold; And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the Lord. And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things. Genesis 24:22, 26, 28. (Read Genesis chapter 24 to get the whole story). Abraham sent his servant to get a wife for his son Isaac. He meet the damsel Rebekah and gave her an earring and 2 bracelets of gold. Later when Rebekah meet Isaac, he showers her lavishly with gold, silver, precious jewels and a Life of marriage with him. SHE SERVED A SERVANT AND LIVED LIKE A QUEEN. Let's imagine a different ending here, NOT in the Bible. Rebekah waters the camels, servant gives her an earring and bracelets, Rebekah runs home, slams the door closed in the servants face, (leaving him outside in the cold), and Rebekah joyfully shows off her newfound gold trinkets to all her family in the house, AND THE SERVANT IS NEVER INVITED INTO THE HOUSE. SO HE RETURNS HOME TO HIS MASTER BROKENHEARTED SHE DOESN'T WANT HIM (to take her to his Master). Is this a sad ending to a story? Apparently it's NOT SAD ENOUGH, WE DO THIS EVERYDAY IN OUR CHURCHES ALL ACROSS AMERICA. Christ, The Master, sent the Holy Spirit to go get His Bride prepared for Him for the Wedding Feast. Instead, the bride settles for some "warm fuzzies" AND THAT'S ALL. ANYTHING MORE IS SCARY, GO AWAY, YOU'RE NOT WANTED!!! And just to be sure you get the picture, WE WON'T EVEN TALK ABOUT YOU AND ALL THE STUFF YOU HAVE. You might make us talk stupid talk or swing from the chandeliers, AND WE'LL HAVE NONE OF THAT JUNK IN OUR CHURCHES, GO AWAY!!! (There's actually a quote in there). We really believe we can tell the Holy Spirit to go away, BUT WE'LL TAKE ALL THE BLESSINGS GOD HAS FOR US, AREN'T WE DOING GOOD!!! Yup, we keep doing this and we really will, Be Blessed.
