MORNINGTIME 2149

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: BUT DAVID ENCOURAGED HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD. 1 Samuel 30:6. And he set the priests in their charges, AND ENCOURAGED THEM TO THE SERVICE of the house OF THE LORD, 2 Chronicles 35:2. AND THE PEOPLE, the men of Israel ENCOURAGED THEMSELVES, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day. Judges 20:22. "To encourage: Strong's Definition: A primitive root; to fasten upon; hence to {seize} be strong (figuratively {courageous} causatively {strengthen} cure {help} repair". Whether you're fighting a Battle, running a church, or just living life in general, it can be easy to get discouraged and watch the wheels fall off the wagon. Each one of these verses tell a story of real  people having real problems and not seeing a way out of the problem, AS THEY SAW IT. Only when we take our eyes off our problems and turn them to the Lord will things change. We need to look deeper than just some pat answer here. These difficulties may be allowed of the Lord to get our attention, or it's something we need to go through to be able to come out Victorious on the other side (of the problem). David was about to be killed so he thought on the Promises and Things of the Lord, and that encouraged him more than enough to go take back his stolen stuff. Even with the pressures and stress of running a church, again, remembering the Lord and His Promises can be enough to keep you going. Here's my point. When we think on the Lord and His Promises, what problem can take away that kind of Peace? The Lord is the Supply of ALL GOOD THINGS. Satan can't touch that, unless WE give him the right to take it away. God is so Good and Faithful, NOTHING can take that away. Keep looking up for our Saviour draweth nigh. Ponder, and, Be Blessed.
