MORNINGTIME 2181

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, AFTERWARD DESTROYED THEM THAT BELIEVED NOT. Jude 1:5. The Lord "saves" many people in many ways. Some physically, some spiritually, and some both ways. The problem is, not all "saved" people want to STAY saved. Many people who go to church and "get saved" did not actually go to get saved, they went to "get better". The life they have is full of problems and they just want the problems to go away. To do that, all they have to do is "sign up with Christ", (this means "become a Christian"), and someone named Christ will take all your problems away. But when their life doesn't work out as promised, they drop Christ and go back to the old tried and true method of, "life was better when I was in charge, at least I understand that", and they "fall away” from salvation with a bitterness towards this guy named Christ because they "tried him", and it didn't work out as promised. In reality, they never met Christ, they were just looking for something better, couldn't find it, and went back to what did work. At least it worked some of the time. The real problem here is that most preachers don't understand "getting saved", so they have no idea of how to relate to Christ in real life. It is truly, "the blind leading the blind". The guys in Egypt wanted out from under Pharaohs hard hand, so they followed a guy named Moses who promised them "a land flowing with milk and honey". All they got was a desert with no water. They wanted to go back to Egypt, and ended up losing everything. If you don't understand sin, you'll never understand your need for Christ. And without Christ and Repentance, you're just trading one set of problems for a different set of problems. Christ never was in the mix so they're still "lost", and that's a term that still makes no sense. ONLY when you "Find Christ" have you found EVERYTHING. Find Him, and, Be Blessed.
