MORNINGTIME 2225

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Romans 6:22. To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. 1 Thessalonians 3:13. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 1 Thessalonians 4:7.  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Hebrews 12:14. One of the most divisive theologies of all Christendom are the two biblical sides of Halloween. I say biblical because one side says the Bible doesn't directly forbid us from it, and the other side says don't partake of unholy things. Whole churches think if we just change the name from Halloween to something religious sounding, for example, "trunks of treats", or "Take the night back for Jesus" we'll be OK and can go with the Lord's approval. To dress up in costumes of, whatever, the children are innocent of wrongdoing. We even claim that to dress like the world (on Halloween), act like the world, and talk like the world, isn't doing worldly things, it's ministering Christ to the unsaved. The reason the church of America has no conviction against the practice of Halloween is the church sees nothing wrong or unholy with it. God says "Be ye Holy, for I am Holy". The church says, "We are holy and our changing Halloween to something holy proves it". If the majority rules, Halloween stays in church, just change the name. If Christ rules, well, the jury's still out on that one. One side of this debate will be in for a big surprise. The fact that we don't come together to hash this thing out and come up with "The Mind Of Christ" as a definitive Judgment either for, or against, Halloween is a sad commentary on the "Church" today. So for you pro-Halloweeners, continue on. For you anti-Halloweeners, hang in there, and keep walking towards all the Holiness you can get. Be Blessed?
