MORNINGTIME 2259

Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, CONSIDER THE APOSTLE AND HIGH PRIEST OF OUR PROFESSION, Christ Jesus; Hebrews 3:1. Back in the day, the High Priest was the man who could tell you what you had to do to receive forgiveness for your sins. The Prophets could give you a Word from the Lord, but only the High Priests could tell you HOW to be forgiven and what the cost would be. Everyone understood that they were sinners so they would go to the High Priest to find out what it would cost to receive Forgiveness from the Lord for another year. Once they knew the cost, let's say a perfect lamb, some people would try to get a sickly, diseased, or crippled lamb from their flock to give to the Lord with the thinking, "He won't know the difference, He barely says anything to me". So the Lord told the High Priests how to check for the quality of the offered sacrifice. Most  people got stuck on the physical side of the sacrifice and never came to understand, "You'll never be good enough to not need a Perfect Sacrifice". God said, "I'll send My Son to be The Perfect Sacrifice for everyone for all time. If they'll accept Him as  Perfect and follow Him, I'll accept them as Forgiven BECAUSE of Him. People today STILL don't understand their need for Forgiveness, and "accept" Christ BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD THEM THE MAGIC WORDS TO SAY, and they'd be forever forgiven, still with no understanding of WHY they said what they said. To repeat "I'm sorry" with no idea of WHY you're supposed to be sorry, IS NOT TRUE REPENTANCE. Without real Repentance you're only repeating someone else's words, and those cheap words fall flat at the Lord's Feet. You're Dead, in your Sins, and unless you get a new Heart of Christ with His Life in you, you will still die as a dead man. Cheap words can't change you from dead, TO LIFE. Not even "being sincere" will change you. ONLY understanding your sins against Christ, and  followed by True Repentance, will you Be Forgiven, and, Be Blessed.
