MORNINGTIME 2276

And unto man he said, Behold, THE FEAR OF THE LORD, THAT IS WISDOM; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28. THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS CLEAN, ENDURING FOR EVER: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. Psalm 19:9. YE THAT FEAR THE LORD, PRAISE HIM; all ye the seed of Jacob, GLORIFY HIM; and FEAR HIM, all ye the seed of Israel. Psalm 22:23. SERVE THE LORD WITH FEAR, AND REJOICE WITH TREMBLING. Psalm 2:11. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING. Philippians 2:12. Why is there fear and trembling? When a person comes to the understanding that they actually are a wretched vile sinner with no hope of being good enough to get into Heaven, that brings in the fear. The fear of Hell and the reality of such a place. Trembling comes in when you understand that Jesus Christ, God's own Son, stepped in and took your place, with your Sentence of "Guilty" hung around His Neck, as He was executed IN YOUR PLACE. Your Debt to God has been Paid in Full by Another, and you are Free to Go. This is the part where a very few actually turn around, run back to Christ, and cry out in Trembling Appreciation, "Lord, I owe you my life, my all, what would you have me to do", in Joyful Obedience to The One Who paid their Sin Debt.  These words of Deep Repentant Love to Him come naturally to one who understands all of what has just  happened. "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, AND FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT". Matthew 7:14. This is where Satan steps in to offer a counterfeit "salvation". He gives an "emotional nudge" for someone to go up front to say the Magical Prayer of "Repeat after me", WITH ABSOLUTELY NO UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR SIN AND NEED FOR THE SAVIOUR, the preacher pronounces them "saved, our new brother in the Lord", and the poor guy goes back to his seat, still condemned. He will not, Be Blessed.
