MORNINGTIME 2282

And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. John 19:19. One more time and then I think we'll move on. Maybe. So Christmas is now officially behind us with nothing left over except the credit card bills. Let's move on to the next big thing on the Christian calendar, Easter. We'll take all the plays, cantata’s, music, and the sermons preached as the run up to Easter last year, AND DO IT ALL, NEXT SUNDAY. (If it were possible to do). Can you do it? Will everybody go along with this? Or will they say it's too early, it doesn't feel right, we can't get into the mood until closer to the actual Easter date. Again, now we're talking idol worship. Have you noticed, Easter is a little more fluid than Christmas? Christmas is on an exact date no matter what day of the week it is. Easter is set by the moon after the something-or-other, whenever. Christmas is anchored to a specific time, Easter is not. (Why?) Again, here's my point, Christ can't be cut up and relegated to certain seasons, days, or times of the year. We can't assign certain things that happened in Christ's life to certain times of the year. I've already mentioned 2 dates, let's take a minute and make up 3 more. June 18 is now "Raise Lazarus from the dead" day, and August 22 is "Peter walked on water" day, and we'll finish off with "Jesus fed the 5000" day on whatever day YOU pick. Are we a little over the top here? So what gives us the right to pick the first two events to celebrate and not the last 3 events? Who decides? Why not just trash all "celebrations" about Jesus, AND PRAISE HIM, HONOR HIM, AND GLORIFY HIM ALL YEAR LONG WITH ALL THAT HE SAID AND DID ANY TIMES OF THE YEAR??? Let's Thank God that Christ was born of a Virgin, Lived on earth, Died in your place, Rose from the dead, and now Sits at The Father's right hand getting ready to come get us, Period. No dates attached? Just Preach it all, all year long, and we ALL will, Be Blessed?
