MORNINGTIME 2319

I KNOW BOTH HOW TO BE ABASED, AND I KNOW HOW TO ABOUND: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:12-13. Abase: To lower in rank, prestige, or esteem. Abound: To be great in number or amount. The concept here is, I know how to handle myself in Christ when I have much, and when I have very little. For the Believer growing in Christ, it's not about how much or how little of something we have, it IS all about what do we do with what we DO have. I'll illustrate. To a man of the world, when he looks at a $10.00 bill, he sees a small amount of money that won't go very far in today's economy. It's almost useless because so much more is needed to do what he wants to do. Therefore, his satisfaction with a $10 bill is almost non-existent. To the Believer Growing in Christ, the $10.00 bill is ALL he sees, it fills his whole screen, and the first thing he does is go to the Lord to find out what He wants him to do with it. He understands that $10 is plenty to take care of whatever need the Lord has for him to take care of with the money. Ten dollars, or a million dollars, it doesn't matter, it's all something to take to the Lord to find out what HE wants done with it. Obedience rules the day and money, time, stuff, all belong to the Lord and His Plans for all of them. To understand that we have died and it is now Christ alive in us, that we have nothing and Christ owns it all, means, WE HAVE NOTHING AND CHRIST OWNS IT ALL. Therefore, however much, or little, money there is, IT'S ALL CHRIST'S, and we need to do with it what He wants done with it. He who is Faithful in the little things will be Faithful in the big things too. And it's the same concept with the word "unfaithful". EVERYTHING we have is from the Lord for US to see what we will do with it. He already knows us, how we'll handle His Stuff, and how He wants us to, Be Blessed.
