MORNINGTIME 2351

Delight thyself also in the Lord ; and he shall give thee THE DESIRES OF THINE HEART. Psalm 37:4. This is one of the all-time favorites of the "name it and claim it" prosperity preachers. This verse has been so abused  it's almost worn out. The question has to be asked of us Christians, "In the grand scheme of things, from the Lord's Perspective, how do I  have ANY idea of what will be good good for me to have or to do, and what could be bad for me to have or to do? I have NO idea of what the Lord had planned for me down the road, or even tomorrow, so how can I possibly have any idea of what I need or want to ask the Lord for today? If the answer is, "I have no clue", then on what basis can I drag out my "laundry list" of stuff I think I want? New car, bigger house, more money in the bank, "if only I had", ALL falls into pleasing the flesh without a second thought of what the Lord has in mind for me. To put on my best religious face I can tell the Lord these things are all things I "need", being very careful to use the word "need", and not "want". If you're going to pray this way, AT LEAST add on, "... Your Will Be Done" at the end. That's enough, now the Good News. As Christians, our first priority is to Love the Lord fully and completely, full time. To Love Him is to put HIM FIRST, to desire to be pleasing to Him in Faith and Obedience, and to ask for His Will to be done in our Lives, and throw out our will if it's different from His Will. His Thoughts are way above our thoughts, so we are to ask for His Thoughts, His Ways, His Plans, that He has for us day by day, even moment by moment. This "Walk of Faith" is definitely an adventure, and way more exciting to see things work out His Way. Even out Prayer Life can come straight from His Heart. "Lord, what's on your Mind today, what would You have for me to bring to Your Throne Room to ask You to work on, what's Your Hearts Cry for me today that I may Obediently Follow Your Way and Will, that You may, Be Blessed"?
