MORNINGTIME 2411

Take heed to yourselves, THAT YOUR HEART BE NOT DECEIVED, AND YE TURN ASIDE, and serve other gods, and worship them; AND THEN THE LORD'S WRATH BE KINDLED AGAINST YOU, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the Lord giveth you. Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. Deuteronomy 11:16-19. In the American christian church today the word is, we serve a good good god who has lots of promises for us because he's a loving god and only has good thoughts for us. This is generally as far as it goes so we grab all the good promises we can and feel like all is well. This theology is nice, for as far as it goes, and it's the "christian" equivalent of the "Prosperity Gospel", meaning money, food, house, kids, cars, and health with, oh yes, god is in there somewhere. So how does Deuteronomy 11:16-19 fit in? READ CAREFULLY AND "CLAIM" THESE PROMISES ALSO, because they are all promises to live by and with, as the Lord doesn't change. You see, if you turn aside to other gods, YOU are turning from the Lord and He wants you back. If prosperity won't keep you, maybe poverty will. God's GOoD ALL the time, so what's it going to take to keep you and Him walking TOGETHER, on His Terms? He CAN'T change, so can you? All His Promises are for your good whether they "feel" good or not. Learn from others mistakes, grow in Christ and get it right the first time. He did, so you can to, IF you're willing to Obey the Leading of the Holy Spirit in your day to day activities. His Directives are a Joy to your spirit as you Fellowship with Christ's Spirit. Follow Him, and, Be Blessed.
