MORNINGTIME 2428

Then came the word of the Lord unto the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land. And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire. THUS SAITH THE LORD; DECEIVE NOT YOURSELVES, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us: FOR THEY SHALL NOT DEPART. Jeremiah 37:6-9. The issue here is not about exactly WHAT is going on, but about WHO said what. The king is told by his "prophets" that the bad guys will leave and all will be well. But the Lord God through His Prophet Jeremiah tells the king, "Don't believe them, your defeated enemies will rise up and destroy your city". The king here doesn't want to hear the Truth from God, he wants to hear from man that all will be well, and then tell all the people that all will be well. This king is also AN HIRELING, he just wants the easy life, he wants the story to end up with, "And they lived happily ever after", and that just isn't going to happen. God's Man steps in to say that death and destruction are coming, and he gets thrown into prison for speaking The Truth. Again, hirelings will look out for self, first, and the sheep, never. Christians, we're all going to die, so make your death worthwhile and die for Christ and His Word. Be that Prophet, Priest, and King that Christ has called you to be to all the sheep around you. Be like Christ to them and speak Truth into their lives that they too can live with no fear of man and the future. An hireling only lives for the moment  and wants the easy life with no "scary" truth to answer for. Die for Christ and in His Service, to Live with Him Eternally. Don't die for man and die eternally, for ever and ever without Christ. His Glory is Heavenly, man's glory is hellish. Be like Christ, and, Be Blessed.
