MORNINGTIME 2454

Thou therefore endure hardness, AS A GOOD SOLDIER OF JESUS CHRIST. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him WHO HATH CHOSEN HIM TO BE A SOLDIER. 2 Timothy 2:3-4. ALL Christians are called to be soldiers in Christ's Army and here are the Ground Rules. Baby Christians may not KNOW much about the Bible, BUT THEY ARE COMMITTED TO CHRIST as much as a Senior Christian is. All Christians ARE committed to Christ. PERIOD. Let's continue. What are the rights of a soldier? First off, you have the right to go AWOL, absent without leave, any time you want. As a false convert going along for the ride you can get mad at God and "quit" at any time.    "They went out from us, BUT THEY WERE NOT OF US; for if they had been of us, THEY WOULD no doubt HAVE CONTINUED (with our teachings) WITH US: but they went out , that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us". 1 John 2:19. You have the right to expect to be pampered, after all, you are a "Kings Kid" and should always expect the best of EVERYTHING. You have the right to interrupt anyone at any time to interject your great words of Godly Wisdom, after all, you came in top of your class in the Sunday School Bible Quotes Club. Next Right, you're the newest Believer in the church and this makes you the guy with the freshest ideas as to how the church SHOULD be run. You've been a new believer for 3 months now and it's obvious to you, you know how things SHOULD be. Again, a little more respect for your vast understanding of church life would be appreciated. And your last "Rights" is this, you have a few good pointers on how the Pastor can preach better, everyone knows he needs them. If you'll just exercise your rights every time everyone needs your insight, your church would be a much better place. Even the Lord Himself knows that if He works through you with your great understanding of these matters, the church WILL be blessed.
