MORNINGTIME 2458

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus SHALL SUFFER PERSECUTION. 2 Timothy 3:12. "Persecution: Thayer's Definition: to make to run or flee, put to flight, drive away, to run swiftly in order to catch a person or thing, to run after, to press on: figuratively of one who in a race runs swiftly to reach the goal, to pursue (in a hostile manner), in any way whatever to harass, trouble, molest one, to persecute, to be mistreated, suffer persecution on account of something, without the idea of hostility, to run after, follow after: someone". This definition goes from, "I don't like what you’re saying", to, some people want to take off your head. "Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it"? John 6:60.   This is definitely one of those times when all we can say is, "This is The Word of The Lord, you ask Him what this means in your life". THAT'S EXACTLY THE POINT, YOU, TALK TO THE LORD, and ask Him what this verse means with His Definition in YOUR Life. Are we, the general church in America, a bunch of wimps, or does the general persecution of the day wash off our backs like water off a duck's back? I won't pretend to have an answer to this one, but I too will have to run to the Lord to see where I stand in Him. Maybe the Lord is setting the ground work in His People today in preparation for the serious stuff coming just over the horizon. Maybe we're being prepared for the day when "They" come to  church on Sunday morning, call all the Christians together, and throw us all in jail, and we ask the Lord, "Ok Lord, what would you have me to Preach today"? This verse can show us our self-justification, or our self-examination, either way, it can show us our Heart Attitude towards Suffering, and Persecution. This should definitely be considered "Food for Thought", and send us into our Prayer Closet, where we definitely will, Be Blessed.
