For I am not ashamed of THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST: for it IS the POWER of God UNTO SALVATION to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16. PURE RELIGION and undefiled before God and the Father IS this, TO VISIT THE FATHERLESS AND WIDOWS in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as CHRIST IS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH: and he is the saviour of the body. Ephesians 5:23. ONLY the Preaching of The Gospel to a "dead man" can Save him from death and give him Life Everlasting. The American church wants people to feel comfy when the come to church. Give them padded pews, coffee and cookies, play games, a little b-ball, mood music, dim the lights, and preach a message that offends no one. That's "the gospel" of today. And it doesn't work. We're told we need to establish relationships with people first, find out their interests, get them to see we're their friend, THEN give them the gospel. I guess that's to soften the blow when The Gospel hits 'em between the eyes. "And (the Gospel is) a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, EVEN TO THEM which stumble at the word, BEING DISOBEDIENT: whereunto also they were appointed". 1 Peter 2:8. "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you"; Matthew 5:43-44. So how do you show "Love" to your neighbour AND your enemy. PREACH THEM THE GOSPEL, that they Repent and turn from their sins, that they turn from their worldly dead religions, that they meet Christ and get Saved. THAT'S Love. A man is about to kill you, you have 30 seconds to live, "ya wanna invite him over for a weenie roast to get to know him better", OR USE 30 SECONDS TO PREACH CHRIST, that he get Saved, and, Be Blessed.
