Enter ye in at the strait gate (of the American church): for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, (in the church) that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, AND FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT. Matthew 7:13-14. Let's apply these verses to where they really belong, RIGHT ON THE DOORSTEP OF THE AMERICAN CHURCH. There are a few outside of the "church" who will find real salvation, but generally it is those of the American church who believe themselves to be "saved". If you ask, as many survey people have done, "Who in this church building are saved", you will get a response of from 80% to 90% saying they believe themselves to be "saved". And that's where the whole problem lies. Most preachers today preach a watered down kind of a gospel that offends almost no one, and then offers a quick watered down salvation prayer along with 18 verses of "Just as I am" because the lord told him SOMEONE needed to be saved. Someone does go up front to "get saved" and everyone goes off to lunch knowing that their church is doing the work of the Lord in spreading the gospel. This can't be wrong because even the preacher told them they were now "saved". Most preachers have no Biblical Clue as to what Real Salvation is. It's a catch 22 now, because if anyone dares to raise a question about church policy and salvation, they will immediately be shot down for questioning the work and authority of the church. If there are no Watchmen on the wall, people allowed to speak up in church about church, no Real Prayer Meetings on Wednesday nights, and even less Bible reading going on, HOW CAN ANYONE DISCERN MUCH OF ANYTHING IN THE CHURCH? Folks, Biblically speaking, the American church is nowhere near what it claims to be. Christ's Sheep ARE Following Christ, how are you and your church doing? Are YOU willing to compare your walk with the Lord to The Bible, so you can, Be Blessed???
