MORNINGTIME 2486

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of THEM that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: FEAR HIM, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, FEAR HIM. Luke 12:4-5. FEAR; "Thayer's Definition:  to put to flight by terrifying (to scare away),  to put to flight, to flee, to fear, be afraid, to be struck with fear, to be seized with alarm of those startled by strange sights or occurrences, of those struck with amazement, to fear, be afraid of one to fear (i.e. hesitate) to do something (for fear of harm). To reverence, venerate, to treat with deference or reverential obedience".  But I thought God was a God of Love, He is our Friend, He Loves us, how can we be afraid of Him? Let's look at it this way. There is a Judge in town who is known to be very hard on criminals, yet he has a soft spot for windows and orphans. He's always fair, but if you've broken the Law, he'll throw the Book at you to where you'll wish you'd NEVER broken the Law. You're accused of a crime you KNOW you've not done and you stand before the Judge to answer "Innocent of all charges". At least, that's YOUR plan. Your day in Court arrives and you're now standing before Him. The charges are read, the evidence is given and in a moment, you KNOW you're Guilty and worthy of the Death Penalty. You actually agree with the Judges Findings. The gavel falls,  Judgment  is Officially given, DEATH, with NO chance of parole. As they handcuff you, a Man walks up to the Judge and says, "Your Honor, I know this man, and with Your Permission, I'LL DIE IN HIS PLACE". The Judge says "So Be It". They release you and cuff Him. He is taken away and Dies in your place, you know you’re as guilty as Sin, but you're now a free man. Do you walk out  saying, "Ya, whatever", or do you honor The Man by being like Him? CHRIST PAID FOR ALL YOUR HEINOUS CRIMES AGAINST GOD. He offers you Freedom if you'll be like Him, and, Be Blessed.
