FOR THE PREACHING OF THE CROSS is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it IS THE POWER OF GOD. 1 Corinthians 1:18. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come , except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2 Thessalonians 2:3. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26. An honest question, "We have the Bible, we have Christ, we have the Holy Spirit, I can do fine with these, why do I need to go to church and listen to preachers and teachers"? Here's one answer. The Law without Grace will cause you shipwreck. Grace without Law will cause you shipwreck. Here's a balance. The speed limit sign says "60". That's the Law and you're expected to know what it means. Break that Law and you go before the Judge. When your friends come to you to tell you of their experiences after having broken the Law, that's Grace. They tell you about getting a ticket, paying the fine, maybe having their license taken away, possible even going to jail, all different testimonies of personal experiences of their, Breaking The Law. Yes, the Holy Spirit can help you not to speed and not break the Law. That's very good, if you can do that. But most people need to Know what happens when you do break the Law. The testimonies help encourage one, through practical, every day, real life experiences, to understand WHY not to break the Law. It's good to obey 9 other traffic laws, but to break even one can be enough to send you to jail. You get no "credit" for not breaking the first 9, just punishment for THE ONE you did break.
