For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. BUT THE TONGUE CAN NO MAN TAME; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. MY BRETHREN, THESE THINGS OUGHT NOT SO TO BE. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew OUT OF A GOOD CONVERSATION his works with meekness of wisdom. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:2,5-6,8-10,13,17. ... This is an hard saying; who can hear it? John 6:60. On the one hand, "But the tongue CAN NO MAN TAME; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison." And James tells us also that these things should not be. Does this mean that we are stuck with a foul mouth all our life? No one can change this? Here's the GOoD News. GOD CAN, AND WILL, if you'll let Him. We can't do this of ourselves, but Christ in us with the leading of the Holy Spirit can. As we Listen, Obey, and Grow, we can become, "a Perfect man". Perfect is according to the Lord's Standard and His definition. BE ENCOURAGED, THIS CAN BE DONE. Go ahead, talk, testify, bless the Lord, and when you "foul up", Repent, ask forgives, and ask the Holy Spirit to keep cleaning up your mouth. He Will, as you grow more into CHRISTLIKENESS every day. Wow, a clean mouth and heart, (for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh), what a way to, Be Blessed.
