MORNINGTIME 2568

And in the time of his distress did he trespass YET MORE AGAINST THE LORD: this is that king Ahaz. For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, THEREFORE WILL I SACRIFICE TO THEM, THAT THEY MAY HELP ME. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel. And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the Lord , and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem. And in every several city of Judah he made high places to burn incense unto other gods, AND PROVOKED TO ANGER THE LORD GOD OF HIS FATHERS. 2 Chronicles 28:22-25. This story is about King Ahaz having a hard time with his neighbors and deciding the God of the Jews wasn't any help to him, so he was going to find a god somewhere that could help him in his time of troubles. Again, we have another man, whether King, Prince, or pauper, with a god that wasn't doing what man wanted Him to do, so in his anger against God, he cut up all the Holy items in the Church Sanctuary, shut, and locked, the doors with the attitude, "If God won't help me, He won't help anybody". So he went throughout the land setting up places of idol worship for all the people. He was a really bad King. Can you see the "Fresher than this morning’s newspaper" application for today??? How many people do you know IN CHURCH who have given up on God because He wasn't there for them TO DO WHAT THEY WANTED, WHEN THEY WANTED HIM TO DO THINGS? In their bitterness they will tell you, "There is no God, because if there was, He wouldn't have let this" thing" happen to me". Many will admit they once believed in God, but not since He let them down when they "needed" Him. Bitterness, anger and hatred are all attributes of man against God. You will either Love God, or you'll Hate God because there is no fence sitting when it comes to Believing in God. Believe, and, Be Blessed.
