Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if ANY (husband) obey not the word, they (husbands) also may WITHOUT THE WORD be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. 1 Peter 3:1-2. Here's the definition of "conversation"; "Manner of life, conduct, behaviour, deportment". The wife is a Believer and the husband is not. She has her own Quiet Time and Bible Study with the Lord when hubby's not around. She already understands that he won't listen when she verbally tries to talk to him about the Lord, so she doesn't. But the Lord will use her Christian Lifestyle, her daily Christ-like activities, her actions and deeds to (hopefully) bring her husband to Christ, still without her speaking a Word. I would like to take this concept to a much grander scale out of the house and into the world with these same 2 verses,
amplified. (AS AN ILLUSTRATION ONLY). Likewise, ye Christians, the Bride of Christ, be in subjection to your Bridegroom, Jesus Christ; that, if any unbeliever obey not the Word of Christ, that unbeliever also may without the Preaching of The Word be won by the Christian Lifestyle of the Bride of Christ; While they behold your Christian Life coupled with fear. 1 Peter 3:1-2, amplified. Can we even imagine what the Testimony of Jesus Christ would look like if all the "Christians" in church would actually LIVE like Christ tells us to, in front of a dead and dying world? This doesn't nullify Preachers, this amplifies the "not preaching" time of the Christian's Life. What a concept, Live like Christ, and Love all seven and a half billion of your closest friends, family, and neighbors without speaking a Word. Actually, if you think about it, those Days are fast approaching. Work while it's still Day, the Darkness is coming. Either Way, it's ALL time to Testify OF Christ and Live LIKE Christ, and we will, Be Blessed.
