MORNINGTIME 2588

Now the serpent (Satan), WAS MORE SUBTLE THAN ANY beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, YE SHALL NOT EAT of it, NEITHER SHALL YE TOUCH IT, LEST YE DIE. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and YE SHALL BE AS GOD'S, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was GOOD FOR FOOD, and that it was PLEASANT TO THE EYES, and a tree TO BE DESIRED TO MAKE ONE WISE, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Gen. 3:1-6. In those days there was no king in Israel: EVERY MAN DID THAT WHICH WAS RIGHT IN HIS OWN EYES. Judges 21:25. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and TOUCH NOT THE UNCLEAN THING; and I will receive you,  2 Corinthians 6:17. As far as Adam and Eve were concerned, the fruit tree "in the midst of the garden", was an unclean tree, NOT EVEN TO BE TOUCHED. Am I stretching the Truth to assume that it shouldn't even be looked at? Well, 6000 years later, in all of man's glorious wisdom, we are still the god of our own life, we are still wise enough to know when we should listen to God and when we know better than Him, and we still like to look at, touch, and play around with sin because we have learned (almost) how to play  with sin without getting bit by it. Adam and Eve only had to make one decision to not look at or touch the forbidden tree, and they blew it. They decided they were smarter than God and to eat of THE tree wasn't all that bad. Boy were they forever wrong. How are YOU doing with God's command to, "DON'T"? Will you choose to, Be Blessed?
