All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, BE YE HOLY; FOR I AM HOLY. 1 Peter 1:15-16. I want to use a strong illustration here to convey a concept, but to not fall into legalism. Only to get you to consider it and maybe examine yourself. Here goes. To the world, there are many "rules" Christians must follow, and here are 2 examples, "Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself". Matthew 19:19. To the unsaved, these are hard to do. To the Christian, these are easy to do when you have Christ in you and HIS LOVE fills you and flows out to others. That's the set-up, here's the rest of the story. BY WHAT BASIS DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A CHRISTIAN? Would you be willing to sit down before Christ with your Bible and a bottle of water, and explain, or defend, EVERY ACTION, THOUGHT, AND DEED YOU HAVE EVER DONE, WITH YOUR BIBLICAL BASIS FOR DOING SO??? In short, can you Biblically Prove your Obedience to Christ in all your daily doings? If you have done "a thing" that is not Biblically Sound, will you immediately Repent of it and stop doing it? Will you Cry Out to Christ to take this thing out of your life, to free you of the hold it may have over you, and to Grow you in CHRISTLIKENESS, no matter what it costs you? (Here's the hard part) A true Believer will say "yes", a goat in sheep's clothing will hem and haw and walk away. Let's go even harder. A Believer will run TO Christ, His Word, AND Fellow Believers AND ASK if they see any room for more of Christ in his Life. A Believer will RUN to Christ to Be Purified, and found WITHOUT spot, blemish, or wrinkle, to take their Place in the Bride of Christ,. Is this you, that you may, Be Blessed???
