And he spake a parable unto them to this end , THAT MEN OUGHT ALWAYS TO PRAY, AND NOT TO FAINT; And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that THEY WERE RIGHTEOUS, AND DESPISED OTHERS: Luke 18:1,9. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD . WHOM therefore YE IGNORANTLY WORSHIP, him declare I unto you. Acts 17:23. It's interesting that in these verses the Lord is talking to unbelievers, people who doubt know the One True God. He's telling sinners to KEEP ON PRAYING. "But I thought God didn't hear the prayers of sinners because they're sinners". If that were actually true, how'd you get saved? There's a saying, "You can't steer a car if it's not rolling". Engine power, or no engine power, you can't steer the car until it's at least, rolling. Prayer is simply talking to God. Even if you don't believe there is a God, prayer is at least, "rolling". "Even a broken clock is right twice a day". When a faithless "dead" man is praying to something, or in HIS MIND, praying to nothing, he's Praying, and sooner or later his HEART will cry out to the Lord, AND THAT PRAYER THE LORD WILL HEAR. Someone who talks, (prays), ALL DAY, will eventually talk from the Heart, from his Real Self, from way down deep to the bottom of his soul. That soul prayer, even though it's unintentional and faithless, IS a Prayer the Lord WILL hear, and that can START a Journey towards Salvation. Eventually that man will understand that he IS talking to the God he didn't believe in, AND PURPOSELY STOP PRAYING because he hates God, OR, his prayers will lead him to a greater understanding of the Lord he once hated, and is now starting to Love, and grow into Salvation. EVERY person will once in their life face the choice to Follow Christ, OR NOT. Judgment Day legally seals their fate as a Christ Follower, or a Christ hater. Keep Praying, you might just get to, Be Blessed.
