My LITTLE CHILDREN, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: I write unto you, LITTLE CHILDREN, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. I write unto you, FATHERS, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, YOUNG MEN, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, LITTLE CHILDREN, because ye have known the Father. I have written unto you, FATHERS, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, YOUNG MEN, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. LITTLE CHILDREN, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. And now, LITTLE CHILDREN, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 1 John 2:1,12-14,18,28. CHILDREN, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Ephesians 6:1. CHILDREN, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Colossians 3:20. Therefore shall A MAN leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 2:24. When you do a word study of child, children, youth, young men, and men, a picture starts to take shape showing there are generally two groups of people. The first group are babies and children who are still young enough to be under the authority and control of their parents. The second group are young men, and men, who are old enough to hold an office of authority and leadership, and to leave his parents and take a wife. One definition calls young men as men under the age of forty. I find it very interesting that nowhere in the Bible is there a category for what we call today, "teenagers". Just children and men. Be Blessed.
