MORNINGTIME 2644

CHILDREN, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Ephesians 6:1. CHILDREN, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Colossians 3:20. Therefore shall A MAN leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 2:24. Back in the Bible days, children stayed home under the protection and authority of their parents. When a child grew up and became a man, he would leave his parents and their home and would become the authority of his own home and take on the responsibility of a wife and family. Back then, there were no "teenagers", just children, and men. For an illustration, let's say the term "teenager" is an American term and pretty much gives "teens" the pseudo "responsibility" of adulthood as they still play like children. They can do adult crimes, and still be treated as kids. We do the same thing in church. They're too old to be kept with children, and too immature to be grouped with adults. The solution?  Separate them from everyone else, put them in a room by themselves, hire an older "kid" (still trying to act like one), and to make all this sound biblical, call this older kid, "The Youth Pastor". Sorry folks, this kid, his job title as Youth Pastor, AND the practice of separating "teens" from everyone else, HAS NO BIBLICAL BASIS WHATSOEVER. We can fool ourselves into believing this works, but it doesn't. I'll prove it, tell me, how many church kids go off to College and seriously "backslide" in their first year? How many "Youth Ministers" end up with serious problems and quietly try to sneak out the back door of church  hoping to not have to be held accountable for whatever messed up. Kids will be kids you know. Can you really prove a Biblical Basis, historically, for a "youth pastor"? And if not, why would the Lord bless something man-made and unbiblical? God has a Better Way, and Christ has already told us how. Do we want to Obey Him, His Way, and, Be Blessed?
