MORNINGTIME 2741

And not only so , but we glory in tribulations also: KNOWING THAT TRIBULATION WORKETH PATIENCE; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:3-5. I like this little picture as an illustration of a Christian's Walk with the Lord. Imagine you're in a small boat in the ocean, away from the shore just enough that you can't see the shoreline, and therefore have no reference point to gauge if you're actually moving along in the current, or just sitting in the same place you were an hour ago. We'll call moving with the current as, growing in faith. The more the current, the more "growing in faith". But remember, you can't see the "shore" so you have no way to gauge the amount of  your, "growing in Faith". Now, here's where it gets personal and I hope this will encourage you. I'm a Christian and I have no real idea of "where I am" in my Growth in the Lord. Yes, I know I am growing, but no idea of how much, or how little. There is no "reference point", remember? Every morning I ask the Lord to grow me in CHRISTLIKENESS. Yesterday, on my way home, I had a very nice talk with the Lord about "Whatever it takes Lord, Grow me in Christ". (That also includes Patience). Not twenty minutes later I set my lunchbox (I thought) on the porch shelf so I could open the door, and my lunchbox fell off the shelf dumping all its contents all over the floor. In a moment of time, I saw what happened, decided not to deal with it, and kicked it all off the side of the porch to the ground below. Stuff everywhere, and went inside. (shame and failure). Another talk with the Lord, repentance, and 15 minutes later I went outside, gathered up my mess, and brought it back in. Again, "GROW MY PATIENCE LORD, WHATEVER IT TAKES, UNTIL I GET IT RIGHT AND PASS THE TEST". Believers, keep asking for Patience, Grow in Christ, and, Be Blessed.
