There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do ACCORDING TO ALL THE LAW, which Moses my servant commanded thee: TURN NOT FROM IT to the right hand or to the left, THAT THOU MAYEST PROSPER whithersoever thou goest. THIS BOOK OF THE LAW shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest OBSERVE TO DO according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. HAVE NOT I COMMANDED THEE? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: FOR THE LORD thy God IS WITH THEE whithersoever thou goes. Joshua 1:5,7-9. This is Old Testament with Joshua encouraging the Jews to get ready to take the Promised Land. The highlight here is, READ AND STUDY THE LAW. "But that's old testament and we're under the New Testament and Grace!!! We don't have to live under the 600 plus Laws the Jews had". Yes, that's true. Now, reread these verses as if it were Christ speaking in the New Testament giving His Church this same Command. What Law is He speaking of? There are 3 of them, for this discussion. The First is "Love the Lord", the Second is "Love your Neighbor", and the third is, "Ye MUST be Born Again". THESE are "Laws" we must Obey completely or there's no going to Heaven. Yes, Christ lived and obeyed ALL the Old Testament Law TO FULFILL ALL THE LAW SO WE DON'T HAVE TO (fulfill all the old testament law). We now Live IN Christ and only need to OBEY HIM with a much simpler 3 law requirement, instead of 600 plus laws. The world is still full of laws, like, don't speed, pay your taxes, and the like. In Christ, in His Love, we will Grow to Obey His Laws WITH JOY as His Laws willingly become a part of us. Live and Love His Law as His Law also says, we WILL, Be Blessed.
