MORNINGTIME 2867

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2 Timothy 1:1. So who was Paul, and how was it decided that he would be such a great man of God? Apostle: "Thayer's Definition: a delegate, messenger, ONE SENT FORTH WITH ORDERS, specifically applied to the twelve apostles of Christ, in a broader sense applied to other eminent Christian teachers, of Barnabas, of Timothy and Silvanus". This is not to belittle Paul as a Follower of Christ, but it is to knock Paul off of the high pedestal YOU may have him on. First off, THERE ARE NO GREAT MEN OF GOD out there. There never were and there never will be. ALL men are puny, and dust before the Lord. Paul was a puny little man BEFORE A GREAT AND MIGHTY GOD! He was just like every other sin filled man walking the earth, a man desperately IN NEED OF A SAVIOUR. Before he met Christ, he was a LOST MAN, WITH A HEART FOR THE LORD. He met Christ and Christ took that Heart and redirected it TOWARDS CHRIST AND HIS WAYS, IN WONDERFUL, GLORIOUS, OBEDIENCE to whatever Christ asked him to do. THAT'S the key. Paul was a man doing his best to obey God, as best as a lost man can, until he met Christ on the road, AND THAT WORLDLY OBEDIENCE WAS REDIRECTED INTO GODLY OBEDIENCE. Now, with Christ fully directing Paul in all His Ways, you now have a Saved Man making a Christ-like difference, Pleasing to the Lord. How does this apply to us today? Whether you are an Apostle, Preacher, Teacher, or a Joe Sheeper, CHRIST WILL USE YOU TO THE MAXIMUM OF YOUR OBEDIENCE. Paul was 100% sold out to Christ and he was an example of what sold out looks like. You too can be just as sold out to Christ, as Paul was, IF YOU WANT TO! Whatever your place is in the Body of Christ is, IF YOU CHOOSE TO FULLY OBEY CHRIST, your life WILL BE just as Fulfilling, Content, and  Satisfied, as Brother Paul's was to him. What "percent" of Obedience do you want to be? Be a (Wo)Man of God, and Be Blessed.
