MORNINGTIME 2877

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. IF A MAN THEREFORE PURGE HIMSELF FROM THESE, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 2 Timothy 2:20-21. Keep in mind, we can do NOTHING to work for, or earn, our Salvation. There is nothing man can do to "Be Saved", it is purely a work of the Holy Spirit and HIS offering of Salvation to a Heart crying out for Forgiveness. That being said, once a person is Saved, the door is now opened to choices. He can choose to Obey the Leading of the Holy Spirit, or not. At first, the Holy Spirit builds credibility in the Heart of the new Believer. Let's say that the Holy Spirit offers 10 Directives, 10 opportunities, to Obey Him and Grow closer to Christ. He obeys only 1, but finds out that the results of his obedience end up just like the Bible said it would. The next day, he obeys 2 directives, and again is pleased with the results. His Faith in and Belief of the Holy Spirit is Growing. After a time of trial and error, the young Believer wants to Obey the Lord ALL the time. His Faith is Growing as he travels the Road towards Holiness, Righteousness, and Purity, asking for Forgiveness whenever he gets it wrong. The Believer started, like all of us started, as a vessel of dishonour, (like a garbage can or chamber pot) and is Growing into a Vessel of Honour, like A Golden Dinner Plate. The "purging yourself" is simply you being obedient to the Leading of, (the Instructions of), the Holy Spirit, (the Lord), with greater Obedience to, and Love of, Christ. More today, than yesterday. To Obey is always a challenge because the Directives keep getting more explicit and exact as you grow in the Lord. After a while, the Holy Spirit barely Whispers, and you Know what He wants, and it's a Joy to Obey. That's how to, Be Blessed.
