MORNINGTIME 2901

But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but (en)dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of The Word, by and by he is offended. Matthew 13:20-21. This is part of the illustration Christ used about the farmer sowing seeds in 4 different types of soil. This is also a description of many of the "Christians" in church today. Here's how this works. The preacher preaches a really good sounding sermon and the hearer gets an emotional "high", and upon hearing the "invitation", he runs up front to "get saved". Now, with great fanfare the preacher announces, "We have a new brother in the Lord, come on up and let's welcome him into the fellowship of believers". (He is declared to be a new Christian). This is standard fare for most churches who give "The Invitation" at the end of each service. BOTH the preacher and the new "believer" don't understand Christ's Teachings on Repentance, Sin, and how the "flesh" work together. Therefore, the man appears to be saved, is accepted as such, and could spend the rest of his life doing all the right church "stuff", not knowing he's still on his way to Hell. Judas Iscariot, one of Christ's 12 disciples, was such a man. He was never a True follower of Christ, and died in his sins. Now the GOoD News. The Lord, in His Great Mercy, will allow Real Tribulation and Persecution to come against the "believer" TO EVEN SHAKE HIM TO HIS VERY CORE, in an attempt to show him the falsehood of his so called "faith", in the hopes that this person may TRULY come to the Lord. Sadly, much of the time people think Satan is attacking and will band together to pray against this "attack". True Persecution and Tribulation will either drive a man to his knees to truly seek Christ, or else the man will leave the church because he doesn't have Christ AS HIS FOUNDATION AND SOLID ANCHOR. This man will NOT, Be Blessed.
