MORNINGTIME 2973

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment LET US BE THEREWITH CONTENT. But they that will be rich, (or WANT to be rich, future tense), FALL INTO TEMPTATION and a snare, AND into MANY foolish and HURTFUL LUSTS, which drown men IN DESTRUCTION and perdition. For the LOVE OF MONEY IS the root of all evil: which while some COVETED AFTER, they have ERRED FROM THE FAITH, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, FLEE THESE THINGS; and follow after Righteousness, Godliness, Faith, Love, Patience, Meekness. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, LAY HOLD ON ETERNAL LIFE, whereunto THOU ART also CALLED, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:7-12. I want to discuss this as a concept and warning of, not as a legalistic, "if you do this you’re going to Hell". To love a sin, and it's fruits, cover many facets, and I'll cover just one. The "love" of money, "excessive desire to acquire or possess more (especially more material wealth) than one needs or deserves", is the scab covering a serious INFECTION, and it must be dealt with or gangrene will set in and kill you. FOR EXAMPLE, playing the lottery. It looks harmless enough, no big looking sin here, just innocent fun. Really??? Or does it cover a heart's cry for more than you have, always working for more, spending your hard earned (Thank You Lord) money to get more than the Lord has already given to you? Could you be where you financially are now because the Lord is trying to show you something deep in your heart? IS Christ your Everything? Or is Christ your everything EXCEPT in how much money you have, so you and your flesh go out to fix this problem, your way? Please don't go legalistic here, but ask the Lord if He's trying to show you something. BEING rich is not a sin, SEEKING rich, IS. Seek Christ and His Provisions, He'll give you ALL you need to, Be Blessed.
