And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, BID ME COME UNTO THEE ON THE WATER. And he said, COME. And when PETER was come down out of the ship, he WALKED on the water, TO GO TO JESUS. But when he saw the wind boisterous, HE WAS AFRAID; AND beginning to SINK, he cried, saying, LORD, SAVE ME. AND immediately JESUS stretched forth his hand, and CAUGHT HIM, and said unto him, O THOU OF LITTLE FAITH, WHEREFORE DIDST THOU DOUBT? Matthew 14:28-31. And he (Jesus) saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, AND WOULD HAVE PASSED BY THEM. Mark 6:48. This story is an illustration of Christ giving man a command, "Go to the other side", and man doing everything he can to make it happen, WITHOUT ANY FURTHER CONTACT WITH CHRIST. Apparently Jesus was on His Way to the other side and would have passed them by, had they not called out to Him for help. (Finally). Note, Jesus gave the Command, "Go to the other side", so yes, they would have eventually made it. Maybe a day or two later, but made it, BY THEIR OWN WORKS, without any further help from Christ. Peter saw Christ, saw their situation, and not only asked for Christ's help, but asked for an absolutely unheard of miracle that could only happen by Jesus Power. Otherwise, he was going to walk to his death. It's Christ, or it's nothing. THAT, is totally sold out to Christ. Possibly, "If this boat's going to sink, I'll be better off with Jesus" (?). Either way, Peter requested, Christ authorized, Peter obeyed, and walked on the water. (So far, all is well). UNTIL PETER BROKE THE RULES AND TOOK HIS EYES OFF OF CHRIST. Here's my question, if walking on water is "of little faith", what would be happening in The Church today if we were REALLY sold out to Christ? BELIEVERS, WE'RE ABOUT TO FIND OUT, (if there's no pre-trib rapture). Christ is about to Glorify Himself THROUGH HIS BODY, (His Church), and we WILL, Be Blessed.
