Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and HATE THINE ENEMY. But I say unto you, LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, AND PRAY FOR THEM WHICH DESPITEFULLY USE YOU, and persecute you; Matthew 5:43-44. To love your enemy and pray for them which despitefully use you is a concept in the American church that we like to sidestep around because we don't really want to face it. It's hard enough to do this after someone does your sister really dirty, or a drunk driver takes out 3 members of your family. How well will we handle things when full scale persecution floods into this country, like it already has in many places around the world? Today, right now, is the perfect time to start to learn how to forgive your fellow man of little things, like, someone almost runs you off the road, some "backstabber" gets the job that you KNOW you are much better qualified for, and you fill in the blank for the third example. We don't need to go looking for ways to Forgive others, they're already all around us. Ask the Lord to share with you what's on His Heart for Forgiving others. It doesn't get "easier" to Forgive others, but it will grow into Truly LOVING those who need Forgiveness, more and more each day, each new situation, THROUGH CHRIST. This is not a, "I'll think about it" idea for you to decide something about, no, this is a Commandment from Christ Himself. HE FORGAVE YOU of every Sin you have ever committed against Him, to show you how to Forgive others around you. This isn't a fun thing, but it is a needful thing. Christ IS Love and Forgiveness, and only in, with, and through Christ, can you show that Love and Forgiveness to ALL others. It's work, and it HAS to be done, for you to continue to grow in CHRISTLIKENESS. That's "Like Christ" towards others, ALL others. Do your best to forgive, then let Christ shine through you as He AND you, Forgive ALL others, that you ALL may, Be Blessed.
