AND THEY SAID, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST,... Acts 16:31. These things command and teach. Let no man despise thy youth; but BE THOU AN EXAMPLE of the believers, in word, IN CONVERSATION, in CHARITY, in SPIRIT, in FAITH, in PURITY. Till I come, GIVE attendance to READING, to EXHORTATION, to DOCTRINE. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. MEDITATE upon these things; GIVE THYSELF WHOLLY TO THEM; that thy profiting may appear to all. TAKE HEED unto thyself, AND unto the doctrine; CONTINUE IN THEM: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 1 Timothy 4:11-16. ...AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED, AND THY HOUSE. Acts 16:31. As Paul Harvey used to say, "And now, the rest of the story". Acts 16:31 is as simple as Salvation gets, Believe, and, Be Saved. The two parts of the verse. But between these two halves is "the rest of the story" of what a Believers Life will also include. I've included 1 Timothy 4:11-16 as an illustration of "the books between the book ends". There are many more verses describing the Life of a Believer, but this should make the point. Cheap salvation is presented as, go upfront, repeat the prayer, and you're   presented as a new Christian. If this is ALL you ever do, you're still dead in your sins. OR, you go upfront in anguish over your life of Sin, say your own prayer of repentance with a contrite heart, and go away with a Hunger for more of, all of, Christ that you can get. The "list" of things a Christian will do and believe is not a legalistic "you will or else" list, it is actually a Believer's HEART'S CRY to Grow as close to Christ as possible, to be saturated with a Love for Christ, His Word, and His People. Fruits will grow, Gifts will expand, Anguish for the lost will weigh heavy on your heart, and Christ will Be Magnified, Glorified, Extolled, and Expounded to those around you, as LIVES WILL BE CHANGED. NOW, you WILL, Be Blessed.
