Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and FELLOWSHIP, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:42. Thayer's Definition "Fellowship: association, community, communion, joint participation". God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the Fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together IN THE SAME MIND and in the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:9-10. Fellowship is the key here. You can read your Bible and form your own doctrine and beliefs. And in your own mind, your right. And in your own mind, you may be very deceived and not know it. But when you start talking over the Bible, your Faith, your doctrine, with other Believers, that's when you start to compare your understandings with others of like mindedness, and that's when odd theology starts to show up. It's good to have council in numbers, the council of other Believers, comparing notes, and comparing what you believe WITH THE BIBLE. There is only one Mind of Christ, and He's not changing His. So you get to change yours to be like His. If you have a Heart for Christ, it's Him and His Words that you want. Make His Word, your word. Read and study His Word with others and the Holy Spirit will guide you all into agreement with and in the Mind of Christ. Cults start by misinterpreting The Word and coming up with their own understanding. Again, safety in numbers. Just be careful with who you fellowship, and who fellowships with you. GOoD Fellowship will bring "out there" thinking into alignment with Christ. Are you willing to put your thinking to the test, to talk with others and possible need to change your theology? Or are you hard nosed and you're always right? Have a Heart for Christ, and, Be Blessed.
