MORNINGTIME 3250

He that OVERCOMETH shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:7-8. OVERCOMETH: Thayer's Definition;to conquer, to carry off the victory, come off victorious. A: of Christ, victorious over all His foes. B: of Christians, that hold fast their faith even unto death against the power of their foes, and temptations and persecutions. C: when one is arraigned or goes to law, to win the case, maintain one's cause. (The following is meant to be as an illustration, not an hard and fast rule to judge others by). Many of today's American "christians" think they are, because they Went up front, Said the prayer, Signed the card, Joined the church, Got a job in the church, AND THE PASTOR DECLARES THEM TO BE "OUR NEW BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST". And that's all that ever happens in their new "life". They don't pray, read the Bible, or fellowship because the pastor's already declared them to be saved with a place in heaven waiting for them when they die. It's called cheap salvation and they don't know any better. Hell still awaits them. If a person does, "Say The Prayer", they need to KNOW that this is the First Step on the road to salvation, likened unto a Race that must be completed, that to cross The Finish Line is to THEN hear those Glorious Words, "Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of thy Lord". A race where the runner has Conquered all obstacles that would try to stand between him, and Finishing. Christ has already Won the Race, all we need to do is Follow in His Footsteps. To run, AND FINISH, is to be VICTORIOUS. This is not, figure it out as we go, this is Obediently Follow Christ IN HIS VICTORY OVER THE WORLD. In the End, you will, Be Blessed.
