O Lord, rebuke me not in THY WRATH: neither chasten me in THY HOT DISPLEASURE. For THINE ARROWS stick fast in me, and THY HAND presseth me sore. There is no soundness in my flesh because of THINE ANGER; neither is there any rest in my bones because of MY SIN. For MINE INIQUITIES are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. LORD, ALL MY DESIRE IS BEFORE THEE; and my groaning is not hid from thee. For IN THEE, O LORD, DO I HOPE: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. For I WILL DECLARE MINE INIQUITY; I WILL BE SORRY FOR MY SIN. Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me. MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME, O LORD MY SALVATION. Psalm 38:1-4,9,15, 18,21-22. Read all of Psalm 38 and you'll see that it's all about a man under severe pressure, and his God applying that pressure. As far as you and I are concerned, this could be an unsaved man finally coming to his "senses" and begging the Lord for Salvation. This could be a man walking in Salvation and the Lord is working "Things of worldliness" (a growing Believer), out of him. This could be a man so Wrapped Up in the Lord, and Walking in such Obedience to the Holy Spirit, that the Lord is putting on the final buffing, the Final Touch of "Perfection" onto His Vessel suitable for His Use. Either way, any way, it's ALL the Lord dealing with man to bring that man into the Place the Lord has for him. Even if the Lord USES Satan, like a dog on a short leash to Purify a Believer just a little more, it's still all about man's relationship with his God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. No credit or mention of Satan in this Psalm, just man and God. Wherever you are today in your Walk with the Lord, Thank Him and Praise Him for EVERYTHING that touches your Life today. Everything He does and allows, IS FOR YOUR GROWTH, YOUR PERFECTING, YOUR FINISHING, as your Shine reflects Christ to a lost and dying world. Trust the Lord as He USES you to bring others to Christ, where you AND they will, Be Blessed.
