MORNINGTIME 3751

My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; NEITHER be weary OF HIS CORRECTION: For whom THE LORD loveth he CORRECTETH; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Proverbs 3:11-12. CORRECTION IS GRIEVOUS UNTO HIM THAT FORSAKETH THE WAY: and he that hateth reproof shall die. Proverbs 15:10. But thou shalt say unto them, This (America) is a nation that obeyeth not the Voice of the Lord their (used to be) God, NOR RECEIVETH CORRECTION: Truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth. Jeremiah 7:28. ALL SCRIPTURE IS given by Inspiration of God, and is PROFITABLE for doctrine, for reproof, FOR CORRECTION, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16. Thayer's Definition, Correction: "Restoration to an upright or right state, correction, improvement of life or character". Chastening and Chastisement are much more "heavy duty", and Correction is more light duty, in the hands of the Lord. For example, to correct the course a sailboat is going in is to apply a little more pressure in steering until the boat goes in the direction you're wanting to go. No major force or hard words, just gentle pressure to go a different way. The Lord will help us navigate daily through this thing called Life if we will simply ask for His Help. Listening to the Leading of the Holy Spirit can become second nature as He can direct your steps so gently that when you look back on your day, you find you've gone a different direction than when you first started, and it ended up better than if you were in control. Throughout the Bible, when the Lord applies Chastening, Chastisement and Correction to a Believer, it's always done as gently as possible with just enough Firmness and Authority to get the job done. Christians Benefit from this and will Grow in Christ and CHRISTLIKENESS as they follow the Lord even more closely every day. Again, Chastening, Chastisement and Correction from the Lord are ALL GOoD Things for the Believer. Ask Him, for Them, and each day you will, Be Blessed.
