MORNINGTIME 3965

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. And were baptized of him in Jordan, CONFESSING THEIR SINS. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matthew 3:1-2,6,11. In these verses, "confessing their sins" is either a work of man with man-made reasons, or else it is a True Work of the Holy Spirit done with Great Mercy and Grace. Man can only bring guilt about sin and sometimes its quite a show. Years ago a famous preacher caught (by man) in adultery "repented" with great anguish and tears on TV and it made the headlines. To look at him later, nothing changed. The Holy Spirit doesn't wait for sin to manifest itself to the point others can see it, He goes after sin in your life even when it is barely a starting thought. He will gently Convict of sin BEFORE it can get started. And He will provide a Way Out if it does get started. When one meets Christ and His Holiness, and then sees his own sins, (generally) he will run FROM his sins and run TO the Holiness of Christ just as fast as he can and never look back. This is Repentance, the change of direction. When the Holy Spirit Convicts of sin, the sinner may cringe, but he knows the Holy Spirit will accomplish THE BEST, and sinner desires THE BEST, so sinner asks the Holy Spirit TO KEEP CHANGING HIM no matter how much it hurts because it will be THE BEST. And when these changes please the Lord, they're THE BEST. Rest assured, Pride will definitely "take a big hit" as Conviction takes place. Repentance and Anguish are an inner work with visible manifestations. Condemnation is just outward manifestations with no inward works or changes. TODAY is the Day of Salvation, Repent, Be Changed and change direction as the Holy Spirit leads. He'll lead you all the Way to Eternally, Be Blessed.
