MORNINGTIME 4042by Benjamin Munsell on June 28, 2022
And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, O Lord, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the Lord thy God, and worship before the Lord thy God: And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the Lord thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you. Deuteronomy 26:10-11. Of the roughly 635 God Commanded Laws of the Old Testament handed down to Moses, Tithing was just one of them. And since Christ has Fulfilled all the Law and we no longer need to obey them, we can also throw out the Tithing Law. OK, that makes sense, LEGALLY. Are you daring enough to dig deeper and ask the Lord what His Heart Attitude is about Tithing? Christ never tried to dissuade anyone from Tithing. He did say help your neighbor and one of the Churches jobs is to help people, and the only way it can do that is if churchgoers bring in their Tithes and Offerings. It just makes Biblical Sense to go the extra mile and willingly give to the church so the church can help people in need. It could be you in need next week.... Think tithing is still outdated? God had given man His Best, (remember Christ on the Cross dying in your place?), is it really asking too much to give back even a little of what He's given to you? If you want legalism, stay in the Old Testament. If you want Christ, stay in the Heart of Christ and you'll Gladly and Joyfully give of your time, money, talents and stuff just to help those in need. When you were in need of Christ and Salvation, someone "Tithed" their time and energy to help you find Christ. Has anyone ever helped you with money when you were in need? Legalism condemns, Christ brings Peace and Joy, which one do you want to follow? The Heart of Christ Loves ALL people. How much of His Heart do you want? Just ask, He'll give you everything you need, AND the Joy, Peace, Contentment and Satisfaction of LIFE that only He can give. Rejoice in Christ and Eternally, Be Blessed.
