Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to STAND AGAINST the wiles of THE DEVIL. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able TO WITHSTAND IN THE EVIL DAY, and having done all, TO STAND. Ephesians 6:11-13. Think of an Electrician or a Carpenter, they have on a tool belt with the needed tools to do a specific job. Each tool has its own purpose. Usually, one tool is used at a time and when you finish a task, a different tool is used for the next task. Christians also have their own tool belt with specific tools to accomplish specific tasks. The Whole Armour of God has 6 tools, if you add in the 5-Fold ministry, that's another 5 tools, the 9 Gifts of the Spirit and the 9 Fruits of the Spirit, that's another 18 tools. And don't forget the 2 called Government and Helps, there's 2 more. As a Christian you'll probably use one at a time, but on occasion using 2 or 3 together may be what's needed. You may have your favorite tools you like to use, but it's good to be knowledgeable to at least know HOW to use all your tools on your tool belt. The more you know and understand the tools on your tool belt, the more useful you'll be, even if called on at barely a moment's notice. Just like Boot Camp in the military, NOW is a great time to practice with and use your tools on the tool belt. That way, when you finally go out into real battle, YOU'RE READY. No regrets, no wishing you'd study harder, just be ready to go take care of business as the Lord directs. The Lord does all the work, but if you're ready and available to Obediently do whatever the Holy Spirit directs, you too will get "credit" for a battle well fought. Study, Pray, Intercede, Fellowship with Christ, ask Him what's important to Him that you can "have a hand in" as you learn how to Greatly, Be Blessed.
